EMERGENCY POWERS (No. 258) ORDER, 1943 (SECOND AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1951.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (No. 258) Order, 1943 (Second Amendment) Order, 1951.

2. (1) The operation of the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 202) Order, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 289 of 1939 ) which—

(a) imposed a duty of customs on the following articles, namely, woven tissues exceeding one shilling and sixpence per square yard in value and not exceeding eighteen inches in width which have two selvedges and which are made of silk or artificial silk or both silk and artificial silk or of a combination of silk or artificial silk or both silk and artificial silk together with cotton, and

(b) was suspended by the Emergency Powers (No. 258) Order, 1943 (S. R. & O. No. 70 of 1943),

is hereby restored in respect of articles imported on or after the 1st day of October, 1951.

(2) Accordingly, the said Emergency Powers (No. 258) Order, 1943, is hereby amended, in respect of articles imported on or after the said date, by the deletion of all matter contained in the Second Schedule at reference number 4.
