BACON (MAXIMUM PRICES) ORDER, 1951 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1951.

I, THOMAS F. O'HIGGINS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Bacon (Maximum Prices) Order, 1951 (Amendment) Order, 1951.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 7th day of May, 1951.

2. The Bacon (Maximum Prices) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1951 ), is hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of Article 6 and the substitution therefor of the following Article :—

" 6. Where bacon is sold in a sack, wrapper or other container, the prices set out in this Order shall include the cost of such container provided that, where bacon is sold to a wholesale merchant or to a retail merchant in a sack or wrapper, an extra charge not exceeding 2/6d. in respect of each such sack, or 5/- in respect of each such wrapper, may be made on the condition that, where the purchaser returns to the vendor the sack or wrapper or a similar sack or wrapper in good condition, such extra charge, together with any costs of carriage incurred thereon, shall be refunded to the purchaser ".
