PUBLIC ASSISTANCE (GENERAL REGULATIONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1951.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Assistance Act, 1939 (No. 27 of 1939), hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Assistance (General Regulations) (Amendment) Order, 1951.

2. The Public Assistance (General Regulations) Order, 1942 (S.R. and O., 1942 No. 83) shall be amended as follows :—

(1) For sub-article (15) of Article 53 the following sub-article shall be substituted :—

"(15) To give immediate information of the death of any patient in the hospital to the medical officer and to the nearest relatives of the deceased who may be known to her and if the said relatives fail within thirty-six hours of the death to give notice of their intention to arrange for the burial of the remains, or give notice refusing to make any such arrangements, to provide for the interment or other lawful disposal thereof."

(2) For sub-article (20) of Article 54 the following sub-article shall be substituted :—

"(20) To give immediate information of the death of any inmate of the home to the medical officer and to the nearest relatives of the deceased who may be known to her and if the said relatives fail within thirty-six hours of the death to give notice of their intention to arrange for the burial of the remains, or give notice refusing to make any such arrangements, to provide for the interment or other lawful disposal thereof."
