BEE PEST PREVENTION (IRELAND) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1950.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) Act, 1908, as adapted by or under subsequent enactments, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby make the following regulations—

1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations, 1950.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

2. The Bee Pest Prevention (Ireland) Regulations, 1909, are hereby amended by the substitution for Regulation 10 of the following—

" 10. Compensation for the destruction of bees, articles and appliances may be allowed by a local authority at a rate not exceeding the following—

(1) Movable Comb Hive.

(a) Bees.

For each frame of comb fully covered with live bees

Half the value subject to a maximum of 7/6d. per frame with a maximum total payment of 75/per hive.

For each frame of comb not fully covered with live bees

Such lesser sum as is reasonably proportionate to the area of the frame which, in the opinion of the Inspector, is covered with the bees.

(b) Appliances.

For bar frames (complete with foundations)

Half the value, subject to a maximum of 1/6d. each.

For bar frames (with fully drawn comb)

Half the value, subject to a maximum of 1/6d. each.

For sections (complete with foundations)

Half the value, subject to a maximum of 3d. each.

(2) Fixed Comb Hive.

Bees and Appliances.

For each hive with live bees

10/-".
