PENSIONS (INCREASE) (DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS BOARD) REGULATIONS, 1950.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 7 of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1950 (No. 3 of 1950), hereby make the following regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions (Increase) (Dublin Port and Docks Board) Regulations, 1950.

2. In these Regulations—

the expression " the Act " means the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1950 (No. 3 of 1950) ;

the expression " the appropriate sum " has the meaning given to it in the Act ;

the expression " the harbour authority " means the Dublin Port and Docks Board ;

the word " pension " means an allowance specified in Part V of the Schedule to the Act ;

the word " officer " means a person deemed by the harbour authority to have served as an officer of the authority ;

the expression " scheduled worker " means a person who served in any of the categories specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

3. The increase in pension which may be granted by the harbour authority under the Act in the case of an officer shall not exceed whichever of the following is the less—

(a) the appropriate sum, or

(b) the amount which would bring the pension up to that which would be payable to an officer of equivalent status and service who retired on the 31st day of October, 1946.

4. The increase in pension which may be granted by the harbour authority under the Act in the case of a scheduled worker shall not exceed whichever of the following is the less—

(a) the appropriate sum, or

(b) the amount which would bring the pension up to that which would be payable to a scheduled worker of equivalent status and service who retired on the 31st day of December, 1946.
