EMERGENCY POWERS (No. 258) ORDER, 1943 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1949.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (No. 258) Order, 1943 (Amendment) Order, 1949.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 2nd day of January, 1950.

2. The Emergency Powers (No. 258) Order, 1943 (S. R. & O. No. 70 of 1943), shall cease to apply to union piece goods consisting wholly of a combination of two or more of the following fibres, that is to say, cotton, hemp, ramie, jute, hair (other than mohair or camel hair) and silk which are chargeable with duty under the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 213) Order, 1940 ( S. R. & O. No. 194 of 1940 ), and are not otherwise so chargeable.
