FISHERIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1949 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1949.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 2 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 18 of 1949), that Part II of the said Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for that purpose by order of the Minister for Agriculture and that Part IV of the said Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for that purpose by order of the said Minister :

NOW, I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 2 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 18 of 1949), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1949 (Commencement) Order, 1949

2. The 1st day of October, 1949, is hereby fixed as the day on which Parts II and IV of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 18 of 1949), shall come into operation.
