WILD BIRDS (COUNTY GALWAY) ORDER, 1949.

WHEREAS the County Manager of the County of Galway has applied to the Minister for Justice for an order prohibiting the taking or destroying in the County of Galway of the eggs of any wild bird other than the hoodie crow, the magpie and the wood-pigeon because of the difficulty of enforcing an order for the protection of any particular class of bird :

NOW, I, SEAN MAC EOIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, because of the difficulty of enforcing an order for the protection of any particular class of bird, order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds (County Galway) Order, 1949.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3.—(1) No person shall take or destroy in the County of Galway the eggs of any wild bird other than the hoodie crow, the wood-pigeon and the magpie.

(2) The Wild Birds (Galway) Order, 1931 ( S. R. & O. No. 29 of 1931 ), and the Wild Birds (County Galway) Order, 1948 (S. I., No. 28 of 1948), are hereby revoked.
