CITIZENS OF UNITED KINGDOM AND COLONIES (IRISH CITIZENSHIP RIGHTS) ORDER, 1949.

The Government, being satisfied that by virtue of the British Nationality Act, 1948, Irish citizens now enjoy in the United Kingdom and Colonies certain rights and privileges, do hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1935 (No. 13 of 1935), order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Citizens of United Kingdom and Colonies (Irish Citizenship Rights) Order, 1949.

2. Citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies shall, subject to law, enjoy in Ireland similar rights and privileges to those enjoyed by Irish citizens in the United Kingdom and Colonies by virtue of the British Nationality Act, 1948.
