EMERGENCY POWERS (RATIONING OF SOAP) ORDER, 1944 (AMENDMENT) (No. 3) ORDER, 1948.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) ), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Rationing of Soap) Order, 1944 (Amendment) (No. 3) Order, 1948.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of December, 1948.

2. The Emergency Powers (Rationing of Soap) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 146 of 1944), as amended by the Emergency Powers (Rationing of Soap) Order, 1944 (Amendment) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O. No. 178 of 1947), is hereby further amended as follows—

(I) for the Schedule thereto there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order,

(II) the last six items in the Table annexed to sub-paragraph (bb) of paragraph (1) of Article 5 shall be deleted.

(III) after the words " Galluanach, Soap " in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Article 5 there shall be inserted the words " (being, if they are coupons forming part of a general ration book, coupons included in page 12 of such book) ", and

(IV) sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1) of Article 5 shall have effect with respect to the coupons therein referred to which bear the letter " T " and either of the numbers 17 and 18 or which bear the words " Galluanach, Soap " and any of the numbers 1 to 36 as if—

(a) the reference in clause (I) of the said sub-paragraph to six ounces of soap were a reference to nine ounces of soap, and

(b) the reference in clause (II) of the said sub-paragraph to six ounces of soap were a reference to nine ounces of soap, and

(c) the reference in clause (III) of the said sub-paragraph to six ounces of soap flakes were a reference to nine ounces of soap flakes, and

(d) the reference in clause (IV) of the said sub-paragraph to twelve ounces of soap powder were a reference to eighteen ounces of soap powder, and

(e) the reference in clause (V) of the said sub-paragraph to one pint of liquid soap were a reference to one and one half pints of liquid soap, and

(f) the reference in clause (VI) of the said sub-paragraph to nine ounces of soap were a reference to thirteen and one half ounces of soap.
