LOCAL ELECTIONS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1948.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by article 5 of the Schedule to the Local Government (Application of Enactments) Order, 1898, hereby orders as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Amendment) Order, 1948.

(2) The Local Elections Orders, 1942 and this Order shall be construed as one and may be collectively cited as the Local Elections Orders, 1942 and 1948.

2.—(1) The returning officer for the first election of commissioners of a town shall be the county manager for the county in which the town is situate.

(2) The said returning officer may, in writing, appoint a person to be his deputy for all or any of the purposes relating to the said election.
