WILD BIRDS (COUNTY CORK) ORDER, 1948.

WHEREAS the County Manager of the County of Cork has applied to the Minister for Justice for an order prohibiting the taking or destroying in the administrative County of Cork of the eggs of any wild bird other than the hooded crow and the magpie because of the danger of the extermination of certain wild birds in consequence of the collection and sale of their eggs :

NOW, I, SEÁN MAC EOIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, because of the danger of the extermination of certain wild birds in consequence of the collection and sale of their eggs, order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds (County Cork) Order, 1948.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this order.

3. (1) No person shall take or destroy in the administrative County of Cork the eggs of any wild bird.

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall not apply to—

(a) the eggs of the hooded crow and the magpie,

(b) the eggs of any wild bird which are already prohibited from being taken or destroyed under the Wild Birds (County Cork) Order, 1934 ( S. R. & O. No. 149 of 1934 ).
