FERTILISERS (MAXIMUM PRICES) ORDER, 1947.

I, SEÁ F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Fertilisers (Maximum Prices) Order, 1947.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of November, 1947.

2.—(1) In this Order—

the expression " 35% Superphosphate " means a fertiliser having an analysis of 35% soluble phosphate ;

the expression " Special Potato Manure " means a fertiliser having an analysis of :—

20% soluble phosphate,

2% citric soluble phosphate,

2% insoluble phosphate,

4% nitrogen,

8% potash.

(2) References in this Order to selling shall be construed as including references to agreeing or offering to sell or to inviting an offer to buy.

3. No person shall sell by retail 35% Superphosphate at a price exceeding a price calculated at the rate of £11 per ton ex railway or canal station nearest to the premises of the vendor.

4. No person shall sell by retail Special Potato Manure at a price exceeding a price calculated at the rate of £13 per ton ex railway or canal station nearest to the premises of the vendor.

5. No person shall sell by retail Semsol at a price exceeding a price calculated at the rate of £9 10s. 0d. per ton ex railway or canal station nearest to the premises of the vendor.

6. No person shall sell by retail Ground North African Phosphate at a price exceeding a price calculated at the rate of £9 per ton ex railway or canal station nearest to the premises of the vendor.

7. In the case of a sale where delivery is taken by the purchaser otherwise than at the railway or canal station nearest to the premises of the vendor, the prices specified in Articles 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this Order may be increased by a sum not exceeding the actual cost of transport borne by the vendor.

8. The Fertilisers (Maximum Prices) Order, 1946 ( S. R. & O. No. 330 of 1946 ) is hereby revoked.
