THRESHING (MAXIMUM CHARGES) ORDER, 1947.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Threshing (Maximum Charges) Order, 1947.

2. (1) In this Article, the expression " portable threshing set " means a threshing set which is designed or constructed so as to be capable of being conveyed from place to place and which includes a steam engine or an internal combustion engine.

(2) No person shall, during the period commencing on the 1st day of September, 1947, and ending on the 31st day of August, 1948, make a charge for the hire of a portable threshing set exceeding by more than 12½ per cent. the charge which was, during the period commencing on the 1st day of September, 1941, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1942, current for the hire of the set or a similar set in the locality in which the set is to be used by the hirer.

3. No person shall, during the period commencing on the 1st day of September, 1947, and ending on the 31st day of August, 1948, make a charge for threshing exceeding by more than 12½ per cent. the charge for threshing which was current in the locality in which the threshing is done during the period commencing on the 1st day of September, 1941, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1942.
