S.I. No. 42/1947 - Censorship of Publications Act, 1946, Regulations, 1947.


I, GERALD BOLAND, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 20 of the Censorship of Publications Act, 1946 (No. 1 of 1946), hereby make the following regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Censorship of Publications Act, 1946, Regulations, 1947.

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited as the Censorship of Publications Act, 1946, Regulations, 1946 and 1947.

2. In these Regulations—

the expression "the Principal Regulations" means the Censorship of Publications Act, 1946, Regulations, 1946 ( S. R. & O. No. 254 of 1946 ) ;

the expression "the Act" means the Censorship of Publications Act, 1946 (No. 1 of 1946).

3. The requirement, imposed by Article 7 of the Principal Regulations, that an appeal under section 8 of the Act in respect of a book shall be accompanied by six copies of the book shall not apply in the case of any such appeal which is made by any five persons (each of whom is a member of Dáil Éireann or Seanad Éireann) acting jointly.
