FLOUR AND BREAD (RATIONING) ORDER, 1946 (SUPPLEMENTAL PROVISIONS) (No. 1), ORDER, 1946.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) ), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Flour and Bread (Rationing) Order, 1946 (Supplemental Provisions) (No. 1) Order, 1946.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 18th day of January, 1947.

2. In this Order, the expression "the Principal Order" means the Flour and Bread (Rationing) Order, 1946.

3. This Order shall be construed as one with the Principal Order.

4. This Order is supplemental to the Principal Order.

5. For the purposes of the Principal Order.—

(a) the period (in this Order referred to as the first ration period) of twenty-six weeks commencing on the 18th day of January, 1947, shall be a ration period ;

(b) pages 27 and 28 of a general ration book shall be the registration pages applicable to the first ration period and each coupon forming part of such pages and marked with a letter and number specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order shall be a flour or bread coupon, but shall be valid only for the ration week commencing on the date set out in the second column of that Schedule opposite the mention such flour or bread coupon ;

(c) the flour exchange value of a flour or bread coupon during any ration week shall be 2¼ lbs. of flour ;

(d) the bread exchange value of a flour or bread coupon during any ration week shall be 3 lbs. of bread ;

(e) the flour exchange value of a ration card during any ration week shall be 4½ lbs. of flour ;

(f) the bread exchange value of a ration card during any ration week shall be 6 lbs. of bread.
