BOOTS AND SHOES (SUSPENSION OF CUSTOMS DUTY) ORDER, 1946.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Boots and Shoes (Suspension of Customs Duty) Order, 1946.

2. The duty of customs on articles to which section 9 of the Finance Act, 1934 (No. 31 of 1934), as amended by section 22 of the Finance Act, 1935 (No. 28 of 1935), and the Sixth Schedule to that Act, and by subsequent enactments, applies is hereby suspended during the period beginning on the 13th day of December, 1946, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1947.

3. The Emergency Powers (No. 205) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 328 of 1942), is hereby revoked.

4. The Emergency Powers (No. 320) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 156 of 1944), is hereby amended by the deletion of all matters contained in columns 2, 3 and 4 of the First Schedule at reference number 17.
