MENTAL TREATMENT (EXAMINATIONS BY AUTHORISED MEDICAL OFFICERS) ORDER, 1946.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

MENTAL TREATMENT ACT, 1945 .

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 110 of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 , and of every other power in this behalf him hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Mental Treatment (Examinations by Authorised Medical Officers) Order, 1946.

2.—(1) Where an authorised medical officer makes a medical examination of any person in pursuance of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 , he shall, not later than seven days after the expiration of the month in which such examination is made, furnish particulars in the form set out in the schedule to this Order to the public assistance authority for the public assistance district in which such person ordinarily resides.

(2) Where two or more persons who are ordinarily resident in the same public assistance district are examined by an authorised medical officer during any particular month the required particulars may be furnished on the same form.

3. This Order shall come into operation on the commencement of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 .
