CARRIAGE OF WHEAT ORDER, 1946.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them, by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Carriage of Wheat Order, 1946.

2.—(1) Where, during the period commencing on the 10th day of September, 1946, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1946, a person employed by a licensed miller carries wheat in the course of a merchandise road transport business, the business shall, as respects the carriage of the wheat, be deemed to be authorised by a merchandise licence.

(2) In this Article—

the expression "licensed miller" has the same meaning as in the Emergency Powers (Cereals) Order, 1946 (S. R. & O. No. 178 of 1946),

the expressions "merchandise road transport business" and "merchandise licence" have the same meanings as in the Road Transport Act, 1933 (No. 8 of 1933).
