NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (COLLECTION OF CONTRIBUTIONS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1946.

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the National Health Insurance Acts, 1911 to 1942, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, by this, his Order, makes the following Regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) (Amendment) Regulations, 1946.

2. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Consolidated Regulations (Ireland), 1918 (S. R. & O., No. 1809 of 1918).

3. Regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations, as inserted by the National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Regulations (Ireland), 1921 (S. R. & O., No. 1968 of 1921) is hereby amended by the deletion of so much of the Regulation as defines the word " year " and the substitution therefor of the following :—

" ' year ' means any period commencing on the twenty-seventh Monday in any year and terminating on the day preceding the twenty-seventh Monday in the next year."

4. Regulation 38 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition at the end of the Regulation of the following paragraph :—

"(3). A card shall not be regarded as not being substantially to the like effect as a card in the form set out in the Fourth Schedule to these Regulations by reason only of the fact that provision is made thereon for the affixation of a greater number of stamps than twenty-six."

5. These Regulations shall come into operation and have effect as on and from the 8th day of July, 1946.

6.—(1) These Regulations shall be construed as one with the National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Consolidated Regulations, 1918 to 1937.

(2) The National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Consolidated Regulations, 1918 to 1937, and these Regulations may be cited together as the National Health Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Consolidated Regulations, 1918 to 1946.
