BY-LAW No. 450. No. 4 or LISMORE DISTRICT.

RIVER BRIDE.

Netting.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers now exercisable by me under the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1939, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby make the following By-Law, that is to say :—

1. This By-Law may be cited as the Bride River Netting By-Law No. 450, 1943.

2. This By-Law shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1943.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this By-Law.

4. By-Law No. 209 dated 15th June, 1898, which prohibits the method of fishing commonly known as Cot Net or Snap Net fishing in that part of the River Bride situated above an imaginary straight line drawn from Janeville Quay (in the Townland of Janeville and County of Waterford) across the said River at right angles to its course, and By-Law No. 210 dated 16th June, 1898, which prohibits the use of Draft Nets in that portion of the River Bride situated above Camphire Bridge between the Townlands of Camphire and Headborough in the County of Waterford, ARE HEREBY REVOKED.

5. IT IS PROHIBITED to use, in that part of the River Bride situated above Camphire Bridge, which connects the Townlands of Camphire and Headborough in the County of Waterford, any net to catch fish or any net capable of catching fish (save a landing net used only as an auxiliary to fishing legally with single rod and line).

6. IT IS PROHIBITED to have on board any boat, cot, curragh or other vessel, in that part of the River Bride situated above the aforesaid Camphire Bridge, any net for catching fish or capable of catching fish (save a landing net used only as an auxiliary to fishing legally with single rod and line).

7. IT IS PROHIBITED to have in control or possession, on or near the banks of the River Bride situated above the aforesaid Camphire Bridge, any net for catching fish or capable of catching fish (save a landing net used only as an auxiliary to fishing legally with single rod and line).

8. IT IS PROHIBITED to have on board any boat, cot, curragh or other vessel, in that part of the River Bride between the tidal and freshwater boundary and the aforesaid Camphire Bridge, any salmon or trout.

9. Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding Five Pounds and any net used contrary to this By-Law shall be forfeited.
