SHOPS (CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT) ACT, 1938 (SECTION 21) AMENDMENT ORDER, 1943.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 21 of the Shops (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1938 (No. 4 of 1938), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Shops (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1938 (Section 21) Amendment Order, 1943.

2. Where the hours of employment of a member of the staff of a shop (being licensed premises) in the Dublin Metropolitan Area or a county borough are on any Sunday divided into two spells, the period between such spells on that Sunday may, notwithstanding anything contained in subsection (1) of section 21 of the Shops (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1938 (No. 4 of 1938), be less than four hours in duration, but shall not be less than one hour and a half in duration.
