SCHOOL ATTENDANCE (DUBLIN CITY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE COMMITTEES) (No. 2) ORDER, 1943.

WHEREAS by virtue of section 10 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), as amended by section 89 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930), the Minister for Education, after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, may by order prescribe the times and modes of appointment by the council of the county borough of Dublin of members of the school attendance committee for a school attendance area co-terminous with or included in the said county borough and the time of commencement of the period of office of the members of such committee :

NOW, the Minister for Education, after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Public Health and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 10 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), as amended by section 89 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the School Attendance (Dublin City School Attendance Committees) (No. 2) Order, 1943.

2. The Interpretation Act 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order, the expression " the City Council " means the Council established under that name by the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930).

4. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Dublin City School Attendance Committees Order, 1930 ( S. R. & O. No. 97 of 1930 ), the following provisions shall have effect, as regards the year 1943, in relation to the time and mode of appointment by the City Council of members (other than members appointed to fill casual vacancies) of the school attendance committee for a school attendance area co-terminous with or included in the county borough of Dublin and in relation to the time of commencement of the period of office of the members so appointed.

(a) the City Council shall elect, at a meeting (whether specially summoned for the purpose or not) of the City Council held before the 31st day of March, 1943, such number of members of the said school attendance committee as the City Council is entitled under the School Attendance Act, 1926 , to elect,

(b) the term of office of every member so elected shall commence on the 1st day of April, 1943.
