LOCAL ELECTIONS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1942.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

WHEREAS the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Article 5 of the Schedule to the Local Government (Application of Enactments) Order, 1898, as amended by Section 39 of the Local Government Act, 1941 , and by Section 10 of the Local Government Act, 1919, and in exercise of every other power enabling him in that behalf did by the Local Elections Order, 1942, frame and prescribe rules for the conduct of local elections and as to the method of transferring and counting votes at local elections and the duties of returning officers thereat:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said order be amended in the manner hereinafter appearing :

NOW THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the aforesaid powers hereby orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Amendment) Order, 1942.

2. This order and the Local Elections Order, 1942, shall be read as one order and may be collectively cited as the Local Elections Orders, 1942.

3. The form (Form L E 11) set forth in the schedule to this order shall be added to and included in the First Schedule to the Local Elections Order, 1942.

Polling District of the above-mentioned local electoral area, is employed by me for purposes in connection with the election, and that the circumstances of his employment are, in my opinion, such as to prevent him from voting at the polling station at which he would otherwise be entitled to vote, and I accordingly authorise him to vote at the polling station.............................................. at the................................................ polling place, in the said local electoral area.
