AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (FRESH MEAT) (BEEF, PORK AND MUTTON) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1942.

I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) Act, 1930 (No. 10 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order and make the following regulations, that is to say :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) (Amendment) Regulations, 1942.

(2) The Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) Regulations, 1930 ( S. R. & O., No. 62 of 1930 ), the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) Regulations, 1934 ( S. R. & O., No. 357 of 1934 ), the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) (Amendment) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O., No. 83 of 1939 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) Regulations, 1930 to 1942.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. In these Regulations—

the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) Regulations, 1930 ( S. R. & O., No. 62 of 1930 ) ;

the expression " the amending Regulations of 1934 " means the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Beef, Pork and Mutton) Regulations, 1934 ( S. R. & O., No. 357 of 1934 ).

4. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the deletion of paragraph 5 (as amended by the amending Regulations of 1934) and the substitution therefor of the following new paragraph—

" (5) Unless otherwise authorised by the Minister, all pork carcases which have been scalded and dehaired and all lamb and mutton carcases shall, before being put on board ship, be packed in crates in such a manner that no part of the carcase shall touch the floor of the crate."

5. Sub-paragraph (g) (which was inserted by the amending Regulations of 1934) of paragraph 3 of the Sixth Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion of the words " and all mutton and lamb carcases which are not created " before the words " shall be suspended."
