TAXIMETER (FEES ON VERIFICATION AND STAMPING BY SPECIAL INSPECTORS) REGULATIONS, 1938.

The Taximeter (Fees on Verification and Stamping by Special Inspectors) Regulations, 1938, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the 1st day of June, 1938, pursuant to paragraph (g) of subsection (3) of section 136 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 .

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph (g) of subsection (3) of section 136 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 , and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling the Minister for Industry and Commerce hereby with the consent of the Minister for Finance makes the following regulations, that is to say—

1. These regulations may be cited for all purposes as the Taximeter (Fees on Verification and Stamping by Special Inspectors) Regulations, 1938.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. (a) The fee to be paid in respect of the verification and stamping of a taximeter by a special inspector shall be two shillings and six pence.

(b) Every such fee shall be paid by the person who submits the taximeter for such verification and stamping.

4. The Weights and Measures (Verification and Stamping Fees) Order, 1929, shall not apply in respect of the verification and stamping of taximeters by special inspectors.
