HOUSING (NEW HOUSES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1938.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

THE HOUSING (FINANCIAL AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACTS, 1932 TO 1937.

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts, 1932 to 1937, and of all other powers in this behalf enabling him, does by this his Order make the following regulations, that is to say:—

1.— (1) This Order may be cited as the Housing (New Houses) (Amendment) Order, 1938.

(2) This Order shall be read as one with the Housing (New Houses) Orders, 1932 to 1938.

(3) The Interpretation Act, 1937 , applies to this Order.

2. Notwithstanding anything contained in Article 12 of the Housing (New Houses) Order, 1932, as varied by the Housing (New Houses) (Amendment) Order, 1936, in measuring the area of any floor of a house in an urban area in respect of which a grant may be made by the Minister to a public utility society under paragraph (i) of sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932 , as amended by paragraph (d) of Section 3 of the Housing and Labourers Act, 1937 , no portion of such floor which is occupied by a hall, a staircase, or a landing shall be included.
