COUNTY SCHEME ORDER, WESTMEATH (AMENDMENT), 1936.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS) ACT, 1923 .

WESTMEATH COUNTY SCHEME.

TO PATRICK J. BARTLEY, THE PERSON TO WHOM THE PROPERTY, POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COUNCIL OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COUNTY OF WESTMEATH AND OF THE WESTMEATH BOARD OF HEALTH ARE FOR THE TIME BEING TRANSFERRED, AND TO ALL OTHERS WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

WHEREAS by an Order under his Seal of Office bearing date the 28th day of June, 1923, entitled the Westmeath County Scheme Order, 1923, the Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 5 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") did amend and modify the then existing County Scheme for the Administrative County of Westmeath in such way as to bring it into conformity with the provisions of the Scheme set out in the Schedule to the said Order (which said provisions are in the said Order, and in this Order, referred to as "the Westmeath County Scheme"):

AND WHEREAS the powers and duties of the Minister for Local Government are now vested in the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (hereinafter referred to as "the Minister"):

AND WHEREAS the Westmeath County Scheme has come into operation and has from time to time been amended by the Minister in pursuance of Section 5 of the Act:

AND WHEREAS the Minister deems it necessary further to amend the Westmeath County Scheme in the manner hereinafter appearing, and did on the 17th day of July, 1936, give to Patrick J. Bartley, the person to whom in pursuance of Section 72 of the Local Government Act, 1925 , the property and the several powers and duties of the Council of the Administrative County of Westmeath are for the time being transferred, one month's notice of his intention to make the said amendment, and has taken into consideration any representation which has been made to him by the said Patrick J. Bartley within such month in respect of the said amendments:

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister, in exercise of the powers given to him by Section 5 of the Act, and of all other powers in this behalf enabling him, the said month having expired, hereby orders as follows, that is to say:—

1. From and after the date hereof the Westmeath County Scheme shall be amended by the insertion, after sub-article (i) of Article 12 thereof, of an additional sub-article as follows:

"(i) (a) From and after the First day of October, 1936, the Joint Committee of the Westmeath County Infirmary shall be abolished under Section 7 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 , and their powers and duties in relation to the relief of the poor in the County as modified by the said Act and by this Scheme shall be transferred to the Board of Health."

2. This Order may be cited as the Westmeath County Scheme (Amendment) Order, 1936.
