STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1936. No. 209.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 19, SECOND PERIOD, ADDITIONAL QUOTA) ORDER, 1936.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that whenever the Executive Council has, by order made under that Section, appointed a quota in respect of any quota period, the Executive Council may, if they so think fit, by order made before the expiration of such quota period increase such quota by such amount (in that Act referred to as an additional quota) as they think proper :

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 19, Second Period) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 637 of 1935), made under the said Section 6, the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of February, 1936, and ending on the 31st day of January, 1937, to be the second quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 19) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 158 of 1935), which relates to certain outer covers for motor car tyres, and appointed one hundred articles to which the last-mentioned Order applies, to be the quota in respect of the said second quota period :

AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 19) (Amendment) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 668 of 1935), the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 19) Order, 1935, was amended as from the 1st day of January, 1936, so as to include outer covers of certain sizes not originally included in the last mentioned Order :

NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the power conferred on them by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 19, Second Period, Additional Quota) Order, 1936.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The quota appointed by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 19, Second Period) Order, 1935, in respect of the Second quota period appointed by that Order is hereby increased by one thousand articles to which the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 19) Order, 1935, applies, to the intent that the said one thousand articles shall be an additional quota in respect of the said second quota period and the total quota in respect of the said second quota period shall be one thousand, one hundred articles to which the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 19) Order, 1935, applies.
