STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1936. No. 201.

FLAX ACT (APPOINTED AREA) ORDER, 1936.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936) that the Minister for Agriculture shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the passing of the said Act, make an Order appointing the area to which the said Act shall apply.

AND WHEREAS the said Act was passed on the 11th day of June, 1936.

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (3) of Section 2 of the said Act that the area to which the said Act applies may, as the Minister shall think proper, be one continuous area or be two or more separate non-contiguous areas.

NOW, I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 2 of the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows, that is to say:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Flax Act (Appointed Area) Order, 1936.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The following areas, that is to say, the Counties of Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan, and the former rural districts of Clonakilty and Dunmanway in the County of Cork, are hereby appointed to be the area to which the Flax Act, 1936 (No. 20 of 1936), shall apply.
