THE DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS (BRIDGES) ACT, 1929, (EXTENSION OF TIME) ORDER, 1936.

THE DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS (BRIDGES) ACT, 1929 , (EXTENSION OF TIME) ORDER, 1936, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 25TH DAY OF APRIL, 1936. PURSUANT TO SECTION 8 of THE DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS (BRIDGES) ACT, 1929 .

WHEREAS the Dublin Port and Docks Board were inter alia authorised by Section 4 of the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridges) Act, 1929 , to construct and maintain a new high level Transporter Bridge (Work No. 2) over the River Liffey.

AND WHEREAS Section 8 of the said Act provided that the said work shall be completed within seven years after the passing of that Act or within such further period not exceeding three years commencing from the expiration of the said period of seven years as may on application being made by the said Board to the Minister for Industry and Commerce be prescribed by an order of such Minister:

AND WHEREAS the said period of seven years will expire on the 25th April, 1936.

AND WHEREAS the said Board have applied to the said Minister for the further period as aforesaid for the completion of the said Transporter Bridge (Work, No. 2):

AND WHEREAS the said Minister is of opinion that a further period of three years commencing from the expiration of the said period of seven years for the completion of the said Transporter Bridge (Work, No. 2) should be allowed by him:

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce in pursuance of the powers conferred on him by Section 8 of the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridges) Act, 1929 , and of all and every power him in this behalf enabling does hereby order as follows:—

1. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

2. The Minister for Industry and Commerce hereby allows the said further period of three years commencing from the expiration of the said period of seven years from the passing of the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridges) Act, 1929 , for the completion of the said Transporter Bridge (Work, No. 2).
