LIMERICK HARBOUR TRAMWAYS ACT, 1931 (EXTENSION OF TIME) ORDER, 1936.

THE LIMERICK HARBOUR TRAMWAYS ACT, 1931 (EXTENSION OF TIME) ORDER, 1936, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 4TH DAY OF APRIL, 1936, PURSUANT TO SECTION 9 of THE LIMERICK HARBOUR TRAMWAYS ACT, 1931 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 9 of the Limerick Harbour Tramways Act, 1931 , that the Limerick Harbour Commissioners shall complete and finish, ready for use, the Tramways and the proper equipment for working the same within five years from the date of the passing of this Act or such further period not exceeding two years as the Minister may by order (which he is hereby authorised on the application of the Commissioners to make) allow and on the expiration of the said period of five years or such further period as may be allowed by such order the powers by this Act granted to the Commissioners for executing the same or otherwise in relation thereto shall cease except as to so much thereof as shall then be completed.

AND WHEREAS the Limerick Harbour Commissioners have applied to the Minister for Industry and Commerce for a further period for the completion of the said Tramways.

AND WHEREAS the Minister for Industry and Commerce is of opinion that a further period of two years from the date hereof for the completion and finishing and making ready for use of the Tramways and the proper equipment for working the same should be allowed by him.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce in pursuance of the powers conferred on him by Section 9 of the Limerick Harbour Tramways Act, 1931 , and of all and every power him in this behalf enabling does hereby order as follows :—

1. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

2. The Minister for Industry and Commerce hereby allows the further said period of two years for the completion and finishing and making ready for use, the Tramways and the proper equipment for working the same.
