STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS, 1936. No. 121.

AGRICULTURAL SEEDS (SPECIFICATION) ORDER, 1936.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Agricultural Seeds Act, 1936 (No. 14 of 1936), that the Minister for Agriculture may from time to time by Order prescribe the classes of seeds which shall be agricultural seeds for the purposes of the said Act:

NOW, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Agricultural Seeds Act, 1936 (No. 14 of 1936), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows, that is to say:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Seeds (Specification) Order, 1936.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The following seeds shall be agricultural seeds for the purposes of the Agricultural Seeds Act, 1936 (No. 14 of 1936), that is to say—

(a) grass seeds of all kinds, and

(b) clover seeds of all kinds, and

(c) cereal seeds of the following kinds, that is to say, wheat, oats, barley and rye, and

(d) field and garden seeds of the following kinds, that is to say, turnip, swede, mangel, beet (including sugar beet), carrot, parsnip, rape, cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, beans, tares or vetches, onion, celery, and flax seed or linseed.
