ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY (RESIGNED AND DISMISSED) PENSIONS ORDER, 1936.

Presented to the Oireachtas pursuant to Section 5 (2) of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923 . (No. 34 of 1923).

WHEREAS by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923 (No. 34 of 1923), the Minister for Finance is empowered from time to time by order to authorise the grant of pensions, allowances, and gratuities to persons who resigned or were dismissed from the Royal Irish Constabulary in the circumstances mentioned in that sub-section :

AND WHEREAS by the Royal Irish Constabulary (Resigned and Dismissed) Pensions Order, 1924, made under the said section 5, the Minister for Finance authorised the grant of pensions to the persons therein described :

NOW, the Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923 (No. 34 of 1923), and of all other powers him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Royal Irish Constabulary (Resigned and Dismissed) Pensions Order, 1936.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before the 1st day of January, 1923.

3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in paragraph 3 of the Royal Irish Constabulary (Resigned and Dismissed) Pensions Order, 1924, pensions granted under that Order after the date of this Order shall commence as on and from the 1st day of April, 1936.
