STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 309.CONTROL OF MANUFACTURES ACT, 1934 (SEWING COTTON) (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1935.

CONTROL OF MANUFACTURES ACT, 1934 (SEWING COTTON) (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1935, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 31ST DAY OF JULY, 1935, PURSUANT TO SECTION 18 of THE CONTROL OF MANUFACTURES ACT, 1934 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 18 of the Control of Manufactures Act, 1934 (No. 36 of 1934), that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may by order fix in respect of any reserved commodity a day to be the appointed day for the purpose of Part III of the said Act.

AND WHEREAS the Executive Council have by order dated the 2nd day of July, 1935 (1935, No. 176), made in pursuance of Section 17 of the said Act declared that sewing cotton is a reserved commodity.

AND WHEREAS the said Order of the Executive Council has been approved by resolution of each House of the Oireachtas in accordance with the provisions of Section 17 of the said Act.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 18 of the Control of Manufactures Act, 1934 (No. 36 of 1934), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, does hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Control of Manufactures Act, 1934 (Sewing Cotton) (Appointed Day) Order, 1935.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The 15th day of August, 1935, is hereby fixed as the appointed day in respect of sewing cotton for the purpose of Part III of the Control of Manufactures Act, 1934 (No. 36 of 1934).
