STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1934. No. 317.

COMPOUND FEEDING STUFFS (INDICATION OF PLACE OF MANUFACTURE) REGULATIONS, 1934.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1934 (No. 41 of 1934), that it shall not be lawful for any person to sell, expose for sale, or offer for sale any compound feeding stuff unless—

(a) in the case of a compound feeding stuff not manufactured in Saorstát Eireann, there is printed on the package containing such compound feeding stuff or on a label securely affixed to such package the name and address of the manufacturer and a statement in the prescribed form that such compound feeding stuff was imported into Saorstát Eireann under a licence issued by the Minister for Agriculture, and

(b) in the case of a compound feeding stuff manufactured in Saorstát Eireann, there is printed, on the package containing such compound feeding stuff or on a label securely affixed to such package, a statement in the prescribed form that such compound feeding stuff was manufactured in Saorstát Eireann under a licence issued by the Minister for Agriculture and the number of such licence.

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (3) of the said section 30 that the Minister for Agriculture may by order make regulations in relation to the form referred to in sub-section (1) of the said section 30 as prescribed, and the word " prescribed " in the said sub-section means prescribed by regulations made under this sub-section;

NOW, THEREFORE, I Séamas O Riain, Minister for Agriculture in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 30 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1934 (No. 41 of 1934), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order and make the following regulations, that is to say:—

1. These Regulations may be cited for all purposes as the Compound Feeding Stuffs (Indication of Place of Manufacture) Regulations, 1934.

2. In these Regulations the expression "the Act" means the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1934 (No. 41 of 1934).

3. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of these Regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

4. (1) The statement referred to in paragraph (a) of sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Act shall be in the following form, that is to say:—

"The compound feeding stuff contained in this package was manufactured by.....................    of............................................................ ............................................................ .................. and was imported into Saorstát Eireann under a licence issued by the Minister for Agriculture."

(2) The statement referred to in paragraph (b) of sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Act shall be in the following form, that is to say:—

"The compound feeding stuff contained in this package was manufactured in Saorstát Eireann under Licence No..........issued by the Minister for Agriculture."
