THE UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (REFERENCES AND REPORTS TO COURTS OF REFEREES REGULATIONS) ORDER, 1934.

THE UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (REFERENCE AND REPORTS TO COURTS OF REFEREES REGULATIONS) ORDER, 1934, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE ON THE 10th DAY OF APRIL, 1934, PURSUANT TO SECTION 7 of THE UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE ACT, 1933 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 , that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may by order make regulations prescribing any matter or thing which is referred to in the said Act as prescribed or to be prescribed or any matter or thing which is expressly authorised by the said Act to be prescribed by regulations made by the said Minister under the said Act :

NOW THEREFORE the Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 , and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Unemployment Assistance (Reference and Reports to Courts of Referees Regulations) Order, 1934.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , applies to the interpretation of this Order and of the regulations hereby made hereunder in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The following regulations shall have effect for the purpose of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 , that is to say :—

I. In these regulations—

The expression " the Act " means the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 .

Other expressions have the same meaning as they have in the Act.

II. A reference by an unemployment assistance officer to a court of referees under sub-section (2) of section 20 of the Act shall be made in the form set out in the First Schedule to this Order.

III. A requirement of a report by an unemployment assistance officer to a court of referees under sub-sections (3) and (8) of section 20 of the Act shall be made in accordance with the form set out in the Second Schedule to this Order ; and such report shall be made in accordance with the form set out in Third Schedule to this Order.

IV. The procedure to be followed by courts of referees on the consideration and examination of claims and questions to be considered and determined by them under the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1933, prescribed under the said Acts shall be the procedure to be followed by such courts of referees in the performance of their functions under the Act.
