THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (STAMPING OF BOTTLES FEES) AMENDING REGULATIONS.

Made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce with the consent of the Minister for Finance pursuant to sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1928 .

WHEREAS it is provided by sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1928 , that there shall be paid in respect of the verification and stamping of bottles to which that Act applies by the person requiring the same to be verified, such fees as may be prescribed by Regulations made under the said sub-section by the Minister for Industry and Commerce with the consent of the Minister for Finance, and that different fees may be so prescribed for different classes of bottles and for different methods of testing.

NOW THEREFORE, the Minister for Industry and Commerce pursuant to the powers conferred on him by the said sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1928 , and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Stamping of Bottles Fees) Amending Regulations, 1931.

(2) Article 5 of the Weights and Measures (Stamping of Bottles Fees) Regulations, 1929, is hereby revoked and the following substituted therefore :—

(a) Where an Ex-Officio Inspector of Weights and Measures who has been duly appointed for the purpose as a Special Inspector under the provisions of the Weights and Measures Act, 1928 , verifies and stamps bottles on the premises of the owner of such bottles and all necessary and reasonable accommodation and manual assistance, required by the Special Inspector, are provided by the said owner, the fees payable for the verification and stamping of such bottles shall be at the rate of 4/- per gross : Provided that not less than twenty gross of bottles are submitted for examination to the Special Inspector under the one requisition.

(b) In respect of bottles which are not stamped at the factory at which they are made, or bottles to which paragraph (a) of this article shall not apply, the fee payable for the verification and stamping shall be one halfpenny per bottle.
