Remission or reduction of loans.

2.—(1) The Minister may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, remit all or any part of the balance outstanding at the passing of this Act on foot of any loan made before the passing of this Act.

(2) The Minister may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make any remission authorised by this section either unconditionally or subject to the performance by any person liable (whether as borrower, surety, or otherwise) for the balance the subject of such remission of such conditions as the Minister, with the consent aforesaid, shall think proper to impose and, in particular, conditions as to the making of a payment on foot of such balance within a specified time and the transfer to the Minister or any other person of any fishing boat, equipment, or gear.
