THE SHANNON WORKS TRANSFER (No. 16) ORDER, 1930.

The Shannon Works Transfer (No. 16) Order, 1930, dated the nineteenth day of February, 1930, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, pursuant to sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 (No. 27 of 1927), that when the Shannon Works are completed and handed over to the Minister for Industry and Commerce by the Contractor engaged in the construction thereof, the said Minister shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by order under his seal, hand such works over to the Electricity Supply Board, and, in the event of any portion of the Shannon Works being completed and handed over to the said Minister by the said Contractor, the said Minister may, if he so thinks fit at any time thereafter, by order under his seal hand over to the said Board such completed portion of the said works at any time before the completion of the whole of the said works:

AND WHEREAS the portion of the Shannon Works more particularly described in the Schedule hereto has been completed and handed over to the said Minister by the Contractor engaged in the construction thereof:

AND WHEREAS in the opinion of the said Minister it is expedient that the said portion of the Shannon Works should be handed over to the said Board as from the date of this Order:

NOW THEREFORE I, PATRICK McGILLIGAN, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 (No. 27 of 1927), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows, that is to say:—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Shannon Works Transfer (No. 16) Order, 1930.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The portion of the Shannon Works more particularly described in the Schedule hereto shall be and it is hereby handed over as from the date of this Order to the Electricity Supply Board.

SCHEDULE REFERRED TO IN THE FOREGOING ORDER.

SLUICE GATES AND EQUIPMENT.

WEIR:

Four double sluice gates for the 10 metres bottom outlets.

Two sluice gates for the 18 metres outlets.

Dam beams, elevating truck and crane.

The lifting mechanism and electrical equipment.

INLET WORKS:

Three sluice gates for the 25 metres openings of the inlet to the headrace.

One sluice gate for the 10 metres opening of the ships pass.

The lifting mechanism and electrical equipment, and set out on the plan annexed hereto.
