BY-LAW No. 391No. 3 OR WATERFORD DISTRICT. | ||
I, FIONAN O LOINGSIGH, Minister for Lands and Fisheries, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , and of every other power enabling me in this behalf, do MAKE AND ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW :— | ||
(1) It is prohibited to beat the water or throw stones or other missiles therein for the purpose of driving fish close in to the banks of any rivers in the No. 3 or Waterford District. | ||
(2) It is prohibited to have any Net for the capture of Salmon or Trout in or on board any boat, cot, curragh or other vessel in the tidal waters of the No. 3 or Waterford District at any time between eight of the clock on Saturday morning, and four of the clock on Monday morning. | ||
(3) Each and every boat used in Salmon and Trout fishing in the No. 3 or Waterford District, shall have marked on each bow with distinct figures of not less than six inches in length and one inch in breadth, a number corresponding with the number on the Licence issued for the Net used with said boat. The said numbers shall be painted in white oil colour on a black ground. The numbers so placed on boats shall not be effaced, covered or concealed in any manner whatsoever. | ||
(4) Each and every person offending against this By-law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding five pounds; and every Net used or found contrary to this By-law shall be forfeited. | ||
(5) The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this By-law in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. | ||
(6) This By-law may be cited for all purposes as the Waterford District By-law, No. 391, 1928. | ||

NOTE.—Under the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1925 , this By-law will come into operation on the twenty-eighth day after the above date. |
