LIVE STOCK BREEDING REGULATIONS, 1927.

DEPARTMENT OF LANDS AND AGRICULTURE.

LIVE STOCK BREEDING ACT, 1925 .

LIVE STOCK BREEDING REGULATIONS, 1927.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 20 of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925 (No. 3 of 1925), that the Minister for Lands and Agriculture may by order make regulations in regard to any matter or thing referred to in that Act as prescribed or to be prescribed.

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 4 of the said Act that, where the said Minister is satisfied that a bull in respect of which a licence has been granted under the said Act is affected by any disease or defect, other than those specified in the said Section, prescribed as a disease or defect rendering a bull unsuitable for breeding purposes, he shall revoke the licence granted in respect of such bull.

NOW I, PATRICK HOGAN, Minister for Lands and Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925 , and every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do by this Order make the following Regulations, that is to say :—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Live Stock Breeding Regulations, 1927.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of these regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The diseases or defects specified in the Schedule hereto appended are hereby prescribed as diseases or defects rendering a bull unsuitable for breeding purposes.

SCHEDULE.

DISEASES OR DEFECTS PRESCRIBED FOR PURPOSE OF SECTION 4 of THE LIVE STOCK BREEDING ACT, 1925 .

1. Unfruitfulness.

2. Inability to effect service.

3. Emaciation.

4. Chronic cough.
