18/10/1926: Fishery District Order: Cork and Bandon


DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 27 of the Fisheries Act, 1925 (No. 32 of 1925), that the Minister for Fisheries may by Order sub-divide any fishery district subsisting at the date of the Order and divide any new fishery districts so created into two or more electoral divisions and appoint the number of Conservators (but not more than nine nor less than three) to be elected for any electoral division so created,

AND WHEREAS it is also enacted by the said Section 27 of the said Act that whenever the said Minister by an Order made under that Section creates a new fishery district or electoral division he shall by such Order appoint the boundaries of such district or division and shall annex to such Order a suitable map showing such boundaries,

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the No. 5 or Cork District created by an Order made on the 30th December, 1848, by the Commissioners of Fisheries should be sub-divided into two new districts,

NOW I, FIONÁN O LOÍNGSIGH, Minister for Fisheries, in exercise of the power conferred on me by Section 27 of the Fisheries Act, 1925 (No. 32 of 1925), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Cork and Bandon Fishery Districts Order, 1926.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. Two new fishery districts are hereby created to be called and known respectively as the No. 51 or Cork District and the No. 52 or Bandon District, and the boundaries stated in the Schedule to this Order and shown on the Map annexed hereto are hereby appointed to be the boundaries of such fishery districts.

4. Each of the said new fishery districts created by this Order is hereby divided into two electoral divisions, and the several boundaries stated in the Schedule to this Order and shown on the Map annexed hereto are hereby appointed to be the respective boundaries of such electoral divisions.

5. It is hereby appointed that the number of Conservators to be elected for each of the said electoral divisions of the No. 51 or Cork District shall be four and for each of the said electoral divisions of the No. 52 or Bandon District shall be three.

From Ballycotton Head to Barry's Head.

Lee and Tributaries.

The whole of the sea along the coast between Ballycotton Head and Barry's Head, in the County of Cork and around any islands or rocks situate off the same with the whole of the tideway along said coast and islands and the tidal portions of the several rivers and their tributaries flowing into the sea between Ballycotton Head and Barry's Head.

B.—Freshwater Electoral Division.

The whole of the upper or freshwater portion of all rivers, lakes and their tributaries flowing into the Tidal Electoral Division A.

BANDON DISTRICT.

From Barry's Head to Galley Head.

A.—The Tidal Electoral Division.
