STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1926. No. 19.

THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (ALTERATION OF FEES) ORDER, 1926.

WHEREAS by an Order (in this Order referred to as the Principal Order) made on the 26th day of April 1920 by the King in Council in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in him by section 9 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904 it was ordered that the fees to be taken in respect of the verification and stamping of weights and measures and weighing and measuring instruments by Inspectors of Weights and Measures specified in the Schedule to the Principal Order should be taken in substitution for the fees specified in the Schedules to Orders dated the 19th day of July 1918 and 11th day of July 1919 made by the King in Council in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in him by the said section 9 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904:

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by section 9 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904 (being a British Statute within the meaning of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922)) that any Order in Council made under that section may be varied or revoked by any subsequent Order in Council so made, and it is enacted by section 10 of the said Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 that whenever it is provided in any British Statute that any act or thing shall or may be done by Order in Council then every such act or thing may be made or done by an Order of the Governor-General of the Irish Free State upon the advice of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State :

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to vary the Principal Order and to substitute new fees to be taken in respect of the verification and stamping of the measures mentioned in the Schedule hereto :

AND WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the fees specified in the Schedule hereto are reasonable and proper :

NOW I, TIMOTHY MICHAEL HEALY, Governor-General of the Irish Free State, acting on the advice of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State and in exercise of the powers on this behalf conferred on me by the joint operation of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904 and section 10 of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows :—

1.—This Order may for all purposes be cited as the Weights and Measures (Alteration of Fees) Order, 1926.

2.—The fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be taken in respect of the verification and stamping by Inspectors of Weights and Measures of the measures mentioned in the said Schedule in substitution for the fees for the verification and stamping of such measures mentioned in the Schedule to the Principal Order.

3.—The Interpretation Act, 1889 applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before the 1st day of January, 1924.

Measures of Capacity (Liquid).

Each pint, one half-pint or one-third of a pint bottle used for the sale of ale, beer, porter, or stout as prescribed by the Intoxicating Liquor (Standardisation of Bottles) No. 3 Order of 1925 (No. 66 of 1925
