Grants for capital purposes.

9.—(1) On or as soon as may be after the appointed day there shall be paid to University College, Dublin out of moneys to be provided by the Oireachtas the sum of £25,000 (twenty-five thousand pounds) which shall be applied by that College for such capital purposes as the governing body of the College shall think fit.

(2) On or as soon as may be after the appointed day there shall be paid to University College, Cork out of moneys to be provided by the Oireachtas the sum of £15,000 (fifteen thousand pounds) which shall be applied by that College for such capital purposes as the governing body of the College shall think fit.

(3) For the purposes of this section extinction of debt shall be deemed to be a capital purpose.
