LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1925.

[Extract from Iris Oifigiúil , June 16, 1925.]

WHEREAS by Sub-section (5) of Section 8 of the Local Government Act, 1925 , it is provided as follows, that is to say :—

" The Minister may by order do all such things and make all such regulations as in his opinion shall be necessary for the proper preservation and management of the property and the performance and exercise of the powers and duties transferred by this Section and generally for giving full effect to this Section during the period between the date on which the rural district councils shall cease to function under this Section and the appointed day."

AND WHEREAS the things ordered to be done and the regulations made herein are in my opinion necessary for the purposes specified in the said Sub-section :

NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the above recited Sub-section, de hereby order and prescribe as follows, that is to say :—

1. During the period from the 23rd day of June, 1925, to the appointed day the several books of account of each council of a rural district relating to the powers and duties of such council which, during the said period are to be exercised and performed by a board of public health or by the body to whom is entrusted the administration of the relief of the poor in the area in which such rural district, is situate, shall continue to be kept during the said period in the same manner in all respects by such board or body as the case may be.

2. During the period from the 23rd day of June, 1925, to the appointed day every account of a rural district council with its treasurer shall continue to be kept by such treasurer in the name of the board or body exercising and performing the powers and duties of such council with the addition of the words " acting for the   " Rural District, but such treasurer shall pay out of any such account any payments duly authorised by such council before the date when such council ceased to function.

3. This Order may be cited as the " Rural District Accounts Order, 1925."
