02/11/1925: The Prevention Of Illicit Distillation (No. 1) Order, 1925.


WHEREAS by Section 26, Sub-section (6), of the Intoxicating Liquor (General) Act, 1924 (No. 62 of 1924), it is enacted that that section shall apply to such areas and places as the Minister for Justice shall from time to time by order appoint and shall apply to such materials capable of being used as ingredients of illicitly distilled spirits as the Minister for Justice shall in relation to any particular area or place by order from time to time appoint:

AND WHEREAS it has been deemed expedient to appoint that the said section shall apply to the areas and materials set out in the Schedule hereto:

AND WHEREAS due notice has been given of the intention to make this Order:

NOW, I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó HUIGÍN, Minister for Justice, by virtue of the powers conferred upon me by Section 26, Sub-Section (6), of the Intoxicating Liquor (General) Act, 1924 (No. 62 of 1924) and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf do hereby order and appoint that:—

I. On and from the 10th day of November, 1925, Section 26 of the Intoxicating Liquor (General) Act, 1924 , shall apply to the counties and areas set forth in the First Schedule hereto.

II. On and from the 10th day of November, 1925, Section 26 of the Intoxicating Liquor (General) Act, 1924 , shall in relation to the counties and areas set forth in the First Schedule hereto apply to the materials set forth in the Second Schedule hereto.

III. This Order may be cited as "The Prevention of Illicit Distillation (No. 1), Order, 1925."
