04/02/1925: Gárda Síochána Reward Fund Regulations, 1925


I, EARNÁN DE BLAGHD, Minister for Finance, in pursuance of the powers conferred by Section 18 of the Gárda Síochána Act, 1924 (No. 25 of 1924) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby make the following regulations:

1. There shall be opened in the Books of the Paymaster General an account to be called the "Gárda Síochána Reward Fund Account" to the credit of which shall be lodged all monies payable into the Gárda Síochána Reward Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Fund). The Fund shall be deemed to be a Public Account, and, in so far as not invested in accordance with Regulation 2 of these Regulations, shall be kept in the name of the Accounting Officer for the time being for the Gárda Síochána Vote, and be operated upon by the persons for the time being authorised to operate on the Account of that Vote.

2. Any cash standing to the credit of the Fund which is not required at the time for the purposes of the Fund may be invested in the name of the Minister for Justice in trustee securities approved by the Minister for Finance and such investments may from time to time, with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, be varied or realised.

The said investments shall form part of the Fund and the dividends thereon shall form part of the cash of the Fund, and be dealt with accordingly.

3. The accounts of the Fund shall be audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General and a statement of the income and expenditure of the Fund for each financial year and of any assets and liabilities thereof at the end of such year shall be appended to the Appropriation Account of the Vote for the Gárda Síochána.

4. These Regulations may be cited as the Gárda Síochána Reward Fund Regulations, 1925.
