THE ELECTORAL ACT, 1923.

In exercise of the powers vested in me by Rule 3, of the Sixth Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1923 , I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health do hereby prescribe the form set out in the Schedule hereto as the form in which public notice shall be given by a constituency returning officer of the day on which a Seanad election will be held and of the names and all other particulars of the candidates therefor.

NOTICE OF SEANAD ELECTION.

Notice is hereby given that an election of members to Seanad Eireann will be held on the day of , 19 .

The names of the candidates and their qualifications are set out below. The names will appear on the Ballot Paper in the same order as they are set out here.

Citizens of Saorstát Eireann registered as Seanad Electors in the present Register who are not subject to any legal incapacity are entitled to vote.

Notice will be given by the constituency returning officer of the allocation of polling stations and no person may be admitted to vote at any polling station except the one allotted to him.

WHEREAS pursuant to articles 32 and 32A of the Constitution, an election of members of Seanad Eireann will be held not more than three months before nor more than three months after the 6th day of December, 1925:

AND WHEREAS a difficulty has arisen in the holding of the said Seanad election and I am of opinion that such difficulty is an emergency requiring to be removed immediately:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in me by subsection (2) of section 62 of the Electoral Act, 1923 , do by this my Order, order and direct as follows, that is to say:—

For the purposes of the said Seanad election, there shall be added to the distinguishing letter of each of the polling districts in the constituencies named in column I of the Schedule to this Order, the letter or letters surrounded by a circle set out opposite to the name of such constituency in column II of the said Schedule and such letter or letters together with the distinguishing letter of the polling district shall be deemed to form part of the number of an elector for the purposes of Rule 3 (2) of the Fourth Schedule and of Rule 22 of the Fifth Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1923 .
