THE CENSORSHIP OF FILMS (FEES) ORDER, 1925.

ORDER by the Minister for Finance dated 3lst day of August, 1925, altering the mode of Collection of fees chargeable under the provisions of Section 11 (1) of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 , as prescribed by Order dated 12th day of December, 1923.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Sections 2 and 3 of the Public Offices Fees Act, 1879, as adapted by the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 , that the fees payable in any public office shall be collected either in money or by means of stamps, or partly in one way and partly in the other way, according as may from time to time be directed by Order of the Minister for Finance, and that he may regulate and determine the use of impressed or adhesive stamps, and that he may revoke, alter and add to the regulations contained in any Order so made:

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 (1) of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 , that fees shall be charged in respect of applications to the Official Censor of Films, and the granting or refusal by him of certificates, and in respect of other acts done by him in the execution of his duties under the Act:

AND WHEREAS by Order of the Minister for Finance, dated 12th day of December, 1923, it was ordered that all fees prescribed to be charged in respect of the aforesaid acts of the Official Censor should be collected by means of stamps impressed on the application or other document, and that any such application or other document which was not properly stamped in accordance with the above provision should be treated as invalid:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the use of adhesive stamps should be substituted for the use of impressed stamps for the purpose of collecting the fees prescribed to be charged in respect of the aforesaid acts of the Official Censor:

NOW THEREFORE I, EARNAN DE BLAGHD, being the Minister for Finance of Saorstát Eireann, do hereby order, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the above Enactments, that as from the 1st day of September, 1925, all fees prescribed to be charged in respect of the aforesaid acts of the Official Censor shall be collected by means of adhesive stamps in substitution for the impressed stamps prescribed by the aforesaid Order dated 12th day of December, 1923, and that such adhesive stamps shall be affixed to the application or other document presented to the Official Censor, and that they shall be effectively cancelled by him, and that any such application or other document which is not properly stamped in accordance with the above provision shall be treated as invalid:

AND I DO FURTHER ORDER that the adhesive stamps to be used shall be provided by the Revenue Commissioners, and that the said Commissioners shall keep accounts of all moneys received by them in respect of fees under the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 , and any Orders made thereunder.

This Order may be cited as the Censorship of Films (Fees) Order, 1925.
